Paul von Thurn and Taxis (1843-1879) comes from one of the most respected and richest royal houses in Bavaria. At a young age, he becomes a good friend and advisor to King Ludwig II. His rises to the highest political circles, however, it ends abruptly as the family Thurn und Taxis names him a "black sheep" and he is removed from the princely dynasty, Richard Wagner and Cosima von Biilow dismissed him morally. Paul is forced to adopt a new identity. Under the name of Paul von Fels, he marries the pianist Elise Kreuzer, who comes from a Jewish-Christian artistic family, and strives for a career in the theater. This is the first biography of Prince Paul of Thurn and Taxis, written with the help of numerous unpublished documents and photographs. Hardback, in German, 238 pages.
