Queen Frederica, a photographic journey

Queen Frederica, a photographic journey
The album Queen Frederica, a photographic journey, 1937-1967, is issued on the occasion of the publication of the Diary of Queen Frederica, 1938-1967, and includes the photographs of all three volumes. Following the text of the Diary, the photographs capture the multifaceted public engagements and charitable activities of the Queen, as well as moments from official ceremonies and visits in Greece and abroad, together with some family life snapshots. The first photograph dates back to 1937, from the engagement of Frederica to the then Crown Prince Paul, and the last one is from 1967, taken just few weeks before King Constantine’s attempt to overthrow the Military Dictatorship in the December of the same year. The photographs are prefaced by brief texts which summarize, to the extent possible, the Diary, which constitutes a major historical source, detailed and straightforward, that was recorded almost on a daily basis for a period that spans thirty years. Gebonden editie, in het Grieks, 128 pagina's met meer dan 195 foto's, afmeting: 24.5 × 31 cm
