Albert & Elisabeth, the film of a royal life

Albert & Elisabeth, the film of a royal life
In the early days of cinema, at the end of the nineteenth century, the young Prince Albert appears to be an avid cinephile. At the same time a casual and clumsy way to cultivate the future king and his wife quickly became a glamorous image, while still being close to the people - a dream subject for filmmakers. There are especially many pictures of the royal couple made of the coronation of Albert I in 1909 until his tragic death in February 1934. We witness how the king and queen visit from Versailles to Congo to Brazil etc. We also see the prince in his ceremonial function, as well as commander of the army during the First World War and as a promoter of science. Thanks to the numerous film stills, beautiful pictures and clear scientific contributions of historians this book gives a new perspective on the Belgian monarchy and the royal couple. Hardback, in Dutch only, illustrated, size 24x19cm.155 pages.
