The Danish artist Laurits Tuxen was a phenomenally talented artist, and thanks to his skill for both painting and diplomacy, he became court painter to all of Europe throughout the 19th century. Lise Svanholm’s focus as an art historian is on the Skagen painters, one of Denmark’s most beloved artist groups, to which Tuxen famously belonged.
