Der letzte sächsische König, seine Schlösser und die Revolution

Der letzte sächsische König, seine Schlösser und die Revolution
The last King of Saxony, Frederick August, was crowned on October 15, 1904, after the death of his father, who had reigned for only two years. He was very popular because of his typical sense of humor, but parliament was only an advisory body to him and he refused to implement reforms. The November Revolution of 1918 also reached Saxony. On November 13th of that year, Frederick August gave not any resistance at the castle Guteborn near Ruhland. He said the famous words "Macht doch eiern Dreck alleene!" ("You seek it out yourself!") He spent the rest of his life at his Silesian castle Sibyllenort in Oels, where he died in 1932. This richly illustrated book focuses mainly on his last years as king, his exile and the many palaces. Large paperback, size 21x27cm, 224 pages, German-language, 326 illustrations / photos.
