Cruyningen, A. van - Van Hortense tot Amalia
"All Queens portrayed, nine queens and one crown princess" From her eighteenth birthday, Amalia, the Princess of Orange, can become the tenth woman to bear the title of queen in the Netherlands. Six queens have so far held that title as the wife of the reigning king, including Queen Maxima. The first was the only woman who did not marry an Orange: Hortense de Beauharnais. In 1806 she became 'Queen of Holland' against her will next to Lodewijk Bonaparte, a brother of Napoleon. In the twentieth century, Wilhelmina, Juliana and Beatrix reigned as head of state. All the histories and Amalia's future as a queen are described in this book. Paperback edition, in Dutch, 256 pages, size 15x22.8cm.
