The 200-year life story of a palace created by Catherine the Great's son and his wife, Maria Feodorovna, in the late 18th century, a residence of the Russian imperial family until 1915, a public park and concert site until WWII, used by the Nazis as a military headquarters and looted and burned during their retreat, and restored by thousands of citizens after the War to (nearly) its original glory. With wonderful historical and contemporary photographs, many in color.
