This richly illustrated book "Royal Orangechild" is about the life and death of the 'royal children' of the House of Orange-Nassau. It concerns those princes and princesses who have lived in the shadow of the heir apparent or reigning monarch during the past 200 years existence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The brief biographical sketches offer a perspective on the lives of thirteen princes and princesses, from Prince Frederik (1797-1881) to Princess Christina (1947-2019). Eleven of them lived in the nineteenth century, the other two – in addition to Princess Christina, this concerns Prince Friso (1968-2013) – lived in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In this book, the author mainly discuss the mourning protocols, royal rituals and spoken words upon the death of the princes and princesses. This book rescues the lives and farewell of these 'royal children' from oblivion. Illustrated, 144 pages, size 24x23cm, in Dutch.
