Papakonstantinou, Queen Sophia of Greece

Papakonstantinou, Queen Sophia of Greece
One of the largest streets in Athens is named after her, the treeless capital has become 'greener' because of her. Today's Athens is full of orange trees and the boulevards with peppers. Sophie Dorothea Ulrike Alice of Prussia (Potsdam, Prussia, June 14, 1870 – Frankfurt am Main, Germany, January 13, 1932) was a princess of Prussia and queen of the Kingdom of Greece through her marriage to King Constantine I of Greece. She was a daughter of Emperor Frederick III of Germany and his wife Victoria and also a sister of the later Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany and granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Even though the book is in Greek, it is easy to read with a translation program. Large paperback edition, in Greek, size 17x24cm, 398 pages with 205 family photos in b/w.
