Liebe, Glanz & Untergang. Hessian Princesses in Russian history

Liebe, Glanz & Untergang. Hessian Princesses in Russian history
Exhibitioncatalogue. Four princesses of Hesse - Grand Duchess Natalia Alexeyevna, Empress Maria Alexandrovna, Grand Duchess Elizaveta Fyodorovna and Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna - became part of Russian history. All princesses came from the Protestant German dynasties. Because only the protestants were ready to change the denomination and become Russian Orthodox - without conversion, a Russian marriage was not possible. They were not only beloved wives, but also friends, confidants of their husbands. Nevertheless, little is known about the daily lives of these German princesses in Russia. The exhibition sheds a light on the lives of princesses in Tsarist Russia. Paperback edition, in Germand and Russian, size 30x25cm, 320 pages, with many illustrations.
